How often should I descale?
Rule of thumb: soft water (up to 8 °dH) every 4–6 months, medium hardness (8–14 °dH) every 2–3 months, hard water (above 14 °dH) monthly. More often in café use. Many modern machines show a descale alarm — take it seriously, don't ignore.
Does Renew work on Jura, DeLonghi and other super-automatics?
Yes. On super-automatics dissolve 1 sachet in 1 L water, fill the tank and run the entire solution through the steam wand in hot-water (not steam) mode. Then rinse thoroughly with clean water — on some machines 2–3 full tanks to flush acid residue.
Does Renew attack seals or boilers?
No, when used as directed. Renew is NSF-tested for corrosivity — safe for aluminum boilers (super-automatics), brass group heads (E61) and stainless steel tanks. The organic acid blend is significantly gentler than household-grade citric or acetic acid.
What happens if I don't rinse thoroughly?
Acid residue in the boiler tastes bitter in the next brew and can skew flavor over time. Rule: rinse until the runoff is odor- and taste-neutral. On super-automatics: minimum 2 full tanks of clean water.
