The Comandante Polymer Bean Jar Large is a 200 ml container made of BPA-free high-performance polymer — lightweight, virtually unbreakable, and a precise fit on the C40 MK3 and MK4 grind chamber thread.

Use it to carry your beans, store freshly ground coffee, or drink straight out of it — the thick walls insulate heat so your coffee stays warm longer. Every Bean Jar weighs exactly the same, making multi-dose weighing reproducible. The smooth vertical inner walls keep retention out of the dosing step, and the slightly static polymer surface pulls chaff out of the grounds.

Tipps für die erste Tasse

Pour beans straight from the bag into the jar, tare the jar on the scale, weigh — the constant 160 g empty weight lets you store it as a fixed offset on any scale.

After grinding, tap the jar briefly on the table — that releases the chaff from the wall and gathers it at the bottom where you can tap it out.

Keep the Smoked variant out in the open and the Clear variant on the coffee bar — UV protection vs. visual fill check, both live longer that way.

Which Comandante grinders does the Bean Jar Large fit?

Comandante officially supports the Polymer Bean Jars for the C40 MK3 and MK4. The thread fits form-fit onto the grind-chamber neck of those grinders — grinding straight into the jar included.

How many beans does it hold?

Around 80 g of whole beans — good for four to five pour-overs at 18 g, or two espresso dosing runs. As a liquid vessel it holds up to 190 g of brewed coffee.

Does the Bean Jar keep coffee warm?

The thick polymer walls insulate noticeably — freshly brewed coffee stays drinking-warm longer than in a thin-walled cup, and the outside stays grippy even with 90 °C inside.

Why does polymer help against static in grounds?

The polymer surface picks up a slight charge while grinding and pulls silverskin and chaff out of the grounds onto the wall. The grounds you dose are cleaner — the cup builds clearer.
