Description

The Comandante Red Clix RX35 Drivetrain Set doubles the click resolution of your C40 — finer grind steps for light specialty roasts, manual espresso setups, and targeted extraction tuning. Same particle range, twice as precise.

Instead of the standard scale, the RX35 gives you one additional click between every two standard clicks. This helps when working with light naturals or anaerobic beans where the standard steps are too coarse — you find the sweet spot more precisely. Also a noticeable upgrade for manual espresso setups (Flair, 9Barista).

Important: The precision axle and the red grind dial use a fine thread — you must not mix them with standard Comandante parts. The set contains everything you need for the conversion: precision axle, red grind dial, matching ball bearings, washers, spring. Installation takes about 10 minutes, no tools needed.

Fully compatible with all Comandante C40 MK3 and MK4. Made in Germany — same workshop as the grinders themselves.

Install the RX35 in a clean environment — the precision axle has a fine thread that's sensitive to dirt.

Re-note your recipes — your previous click settings don't transfer 1:1 to the RX35. Plan for some re-calibration during the first week.

Keep your standard drivetrain — in case you ever want to switch back (e.g., for French press where the RX35 fineness is irrelevant).

Who needs the Red Clix RX35?

Brewers working with light specialty roasts who want to hit the sweet spot more precisely. Also useful for manual espresso setups (Flair, 9Barista), where the finer steps allow better pull-time control. For standard filter brews, the standard scale is usually sufficient.

Can I mix standard and RX35 parts?

No — and this is important. The fine thread of the RX35 parts doesn't fit standard parts. Mixing them damages both sets and renders them unusable. The set includes everything you need, so there's no reason to mix.

How does the RX35 differ from the standard scale?

The standard C40 has ~30 clicks per rotation. The RX35 doubles that to ~35+ — more fine resolution in the same grind range. A standard click is about 10 μm, an RX35 click is about 5 μm.

Which Comandante models does the RX35 fit?

All C40 MK3 and MK4 (Standard, LAB Series, all color variants). Not for C40 MK2 or older (different drivetrain system), not for C60 Baracuda, not for X25 Trailmaster.
