Does the wood portafilter fit my Gaggia Classic?
Yes, if your Classic has a 58 mm group head — all current models Classic Pro, Classic Evo and New Classic. The older Gaggia Classic (pre-2009) also uses 58 mm. Very old models from before the 90s may differ — measure the original portafilter if in doubt.
Why is it shipped without a basket?
Many barista setups prefer a specific basket — precision pro baskets (Pesado, IMS Competition, VST) for single-origin espresso, or the standard Gaggia basket for classic shots. This way you don't pay twice for a basket you wouldn't use. Double baskets for 14–18 g drop right in.
How do I care for the wood handle?
Never put the wood handle in the dishwasher — the hot detergent strips the ash and the handle cracks. After every shot wipe with a damp cloth.
