The Rhino Coffee Gear Screen Driver Plus is the professional tool for safely removing and reinstalling the shower screen set screw on espresso machines — now with an added brush attachment that turns the driver into a group head cleaning brush.

Classic problem: the shower screen needs to come out regularly for cleaning — but the screw sits in the middle of the hot group head. With a regular screwdriver you either burn your fingers or damage the gasket. The Screen Driver Plus wraps the screw with form-fit precision — you turn it from a comfortable distance, fingers safely away from the hot group. Ergonomic handle, heat-resistant materials.

The new brush attachment turns the tool into a group head brush — bristles clean the shower screen housing and group rim in the same motion you use to reseat the screw. One tool, two work steps.

Tipps für die erste Tasse

Before loosening the screw, run the machine briefly at brew pressure and then turn it off — the residual water in the group is blown out and nothing drips on your hand when you unscrew.

Don't overtighten on reinstall — hand-tight is enough. An over-tightened screw damages the group head thread and is more expensive in the long run than a slightly looser shower screen.

Rinse the driver head and brush attachment regularly — coffee residue builds up in the driver head and reduces the form-fit grip on the next use.

What is a dome-head set screw?

It's the dome-shaped center screw that holds the shower screen on the group head. Classic E61 groups and most commercial machines (La Marzocco, Synesso, Modbar, Slayer) use this format. Some home espresso machines use a hex or slotted screw instead — the Screen Driver Plus doesn't fit those.

Do I really need this tool — won't a screwdriver do?

It does — but with two problems: hot fingers close to the brewhead and uncontrolled torque. Overtightening with a screwdriver damages the group head thread — an expensive repair. The driver prevents both.

What's the brush attachment for?

When you remove the shower screen, the group housing and screen seat are often covered in coffee grit and ground residue. The brush attachment on the driver lets you clean both in one action — no separate tool.

How often should I remove and clean the shower screen?

Café operation: daily. Home use with a daily espresso routine: weekly. Combined with Cafetto EVO backflushing you get full group head cleaning — backflushing for the internal paths, driver + brush for the visible group area.
