Which burr for which brewing method?
Tigershark: light filter roasts, naturals, anaerobic beans (pour-over, V60, AeroPress). Hammerhead: dense washed single origins, manual espresso (Flair, 9Barista), French press. Nitro Blade LAB: universal, slightly refined version of the classic profile.
What's the difference between the LAB Series and the standard C40?
Body and mechanics are identical — the difference is the burr geometry. The LAB burrs are newer developments from the Bavarian Burr Lab, each with a defined cup profile. You don't need the LAB if the standard Nitro Blade is enough — you choose it when you work deliberately with profiles.
Can I swap burrs between standard and LAB?
Yes — every C40 MK4 uses the same burr mount. You can retrofit a standard C40 with a LAB burr or vice versa. Replacement burrs are available directly from Comandante.
How long does the LAB burr last?
Same as the standard Nitro Blade: 10+ years under normal use. The LAB geometries use the same materials (high-nitrogen steel) — no reduced lifespan compared to the standard.
